It's Almost Christmas!

Hello La-La Landers.

It is almost Christmas and I have been busy helping my mum with cookie decorating and she has been busy helping me with my Christmas treats for my friends. We even got Daddy to tie up a few bells and ribbons too! A real family event.

Every year I like to give each of my classmates a little something for the holidays. This year I made tiny little La-La Land stamped tags and attached them to a very Christmassy pencil.

I used Marci With Snowman for the girls tags and Snowboard Luka for the boys. It was VERY tiring colouring all those tags but I am so happy they are done now! I used Twinkling H2Os to paint my images and then added Glossy Accents to the snowball in Marci's hand and to the Snowman. The close up shows you the effect more clearly! I used some Liquid Pearls to create a pom-pom.

Do you like to give presents to your friends for the holidays? I am taking my present to school tomorrow. I am very excited to give them all out. My friends will be happy too, I think.

See you again soon,
Happy Celebrating!

Sunny Christmas Marci Card Set

Hi LaLa fans!  Carly here, and I have made a set of 10 Christmas cards for our relatives & friends that live in So. California where it's hot, so I thought Sunny Christmas Marci was perfect for them.  I stamped them and colored with mom's Copics.  I will have a tutorial soon to show you how I made my background layers.  Hope you enjoy!  And don't forget we have a Kids challenge going on all month with a WINTER theme!

And here is a closer view of each card color.

Watch for my tutorial coming up soon!  ☺

Making Your Own Background Stamps.

Hello La-La Landers!

How are you enjoying the first few days of December? Have you started making your project for our Winter Theme Contest yet? As you saw in the contest I made a card for my project. The background for my card was created with a stamp that I made myself. It was very easy and fun to do and today I am going to show you how. Have you ever used Moldable Foam?

I chose a circle from my mum's pack of moldable foam shapes.  This also works with thin foam sheets you can find in most craft/dollar stores, but please be careful using the heat tool on thinner pieces.  I drew around the circle onto a piece of chipboard. Then I placed some pretty beads in the circle.

Using a heat tool I carefully warmed up the foam circle and then pressed the warm side on top of my beads.  The beads should be quite thick to make a really good impression.

When the foam cooled I removed the beads and was left with "snowflakes" on the circle.

I inked the newly created stamp with green ink and used it to create a background on my card

What do you think? I was happy with my background for my Sunny Christmas Marci Card!

We are all looking forward to seeing your projects in this months contest! Good Luck! You have until December 30th.

"See y'all later,"

Contest #8 - Winter is on its Way!

Hello from HannaH!

Brrr, it is already cold here in Canada, and soon winter will be here with all the beautiful snowflakes and icicles. Winter is my favourite season. I love the snow - which is good because we get it for at least three months up here!

For our December contest - our last one of the year - we thought we would celebrate winter and see what projects we could make with a Winter Theme.

Before I show you the projects the Team has created, I wanted to share a little news with you about this contest. This month, not only will every participant earn 1 Marci Dollar, and of course the winner 10 Marci Dollars, but also each hostess is going to choose a project that they especially liked. Here comes the fun part, each hostess will be sending a special package to their chosen crafter. The package will contain an R.A.K. (A Random Act of Kindness - this usually means some of her favourite scrapbook things, but it could be just about anything!)

To give you all time to show us what you can do, we have decided to give you the WHOLE of December to work on your projects, The Winners will be announced on December 31st.

We hope our ideas can give you some inspiration... I used Sunny Christmas Marci, with Gelly Roll Pens, a homemade stamp, rhinestones and lots of shiny Peel-Offs for my tree shaped card.

And now it is your turn.
Please remember the rules:
1.Create any project with a winter theme.
2. Use a La-La Land rubber, or digital, stamp in your design.
3. Post your entry to the blog by Dec.30th for your chance to win.

If you don't have a gallery or blog to upload your entry, you may email it to us at lalalandcrafts4kids@yahoo.com & you will be entered.
